Work Experience
Systems Engineer (Front-end Developer)
12/2006 – Present Meredith Inc., Des Moines, IA
I started as a contractor for Meredith Corp. and was hired full-time in July of 2006. While working for Meredith, I was part of a team that helped launch and re-skin high-traffic websites such as BHG.com, Parents.com, FamilyCircle.com, AmericanBaby.com. I also developed the core flash code for Meredith’s websites such as http://www.better.tv and http://www.parents.com/parentstv.
Over my years at Meredith, I was able to build an Action script library, develop code standards for both Flash and Javascript, educate fellow developers on coding trends. I worked on projects that were showcased on MSNBC.com, iVillage.com and other sites. I have used Google map APIs, twitter APIs and Facebook APIs to make interactive social applications.
My most recent projects include migration of Video Hosting Services, upgrading our video players to use Flowplayer. Learned and trained use of Google Analytics, Omniture and Doubleclick For Publishers. I am currently a resource for most projects. I find myself learning how a new technology works, how we can leverage it and helping other developers understand it.
